Iwatsuki is renowned as the “City of Dolls.” It is home to many Traditional Craftsmen, doll artisans, and creative doll/hanging Hina (tsurushi-bina) artists and groups who are actively involved in the craft.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Machikado Hina-meguri,” a grand exhibition was held, bringing together a vast collection of dolls from those who have supported and enriched this event over the years.

Studied under Mitsuhiko Noguchi, learning the expressions of modern Gosho dolls. He created many “child” dolls (Doji). Awarded at the Nitten Exhibition in 1955 and 1956. Became the chief artist of Tōgyoku Doll Studio in 1964 and was certified as a Traditional Craftsman and a holder of Saitama Prefecture’s Intangible Cultural Property.





Born in Fukushima. Certified Traditional Craftsman. He presented numerous dolls to the Imperial Family for auspicious occasions and was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure (6th Class). Certified as a holder of Saitama Prefecture’s Intangible Cultural Property.




Born in Iwatsuki City, Saitama Prefecture. He studied under Kiraku Nishida of the Yoshino School. He was certified as a Traditional Craftsman, and his works have received numerous awards at various exhibitions. He was also a recipient of the Order of the Blue Paulownia Leaves, 7th Class.

1987: Grand Prix at the Japan Creative Doll Association Exhibition.
1994: Solo exhibitions overseas as an invited artist (France, UK, Germany, etc.).
2014-16: Awarded the “Max-Oscar-Arnold” prize in Germany.


A Teddy Bear artist who has participated in Germany’s “TEDDYBEAR TOTAL” since 2009.
Awards: Two-time winner of the GOLDEN GEORGE Award (Germany) and multiple nominations. One-time winner of the TOBY Award (USA).
Permanent Display: Her Peter Rabbit works are on display at the Beatrix Potter Gallery (Daito Bunka University, Saitama).

Studied under his father, Junpei I. Donated “Kochi” (East Wind) to the Hessian State Doll Museum in Germany and presented dolls to four successive U.S. Presidents. He is a certified Traditional Craftsman for Edo Kimekomi Dolls.


One of the few female Traditional Craftsmen in Iwatsuki. Certified in 2009 for “Edo Kimekomi Dolls.” She received the “Saitama Kagayaki Ogino Ginko Award” in 2013. Her original brand is “Kobo Yuki.”


A creative doll artist who has received numerous awards, including the Minister of International Trade and Industry Award. He donated his work “Ushiwakamaru” to the Hanau Doll Museum in Germany.
